If your Electrolux washing machine displays an error code on the screen, this guide will tell you what it means and how to remove it. Find the error code in the list below and follow our tips to remove it.
Error code: E10
This error code means there is a fault in the water inlet. It is a common error code. You can usually resolve it by checking if the faucets are open and the hoses are not kinked or blocked. The water supply valve may also need a replacement.
Error code: E11
This Electrolux washing machine error code means that your appliance is not filling with water during the wash phase of the cycle. To clear the code, examine if the faucet is open and check the hoses for kinks and blockages. If this does not work, replace the water supply valve.
Error code: E12
This error code means your washing machine is not filling with water during the rinse cycle. Examine if the faucet is open and check the hoses for kinks and blockages. If this does not work, replace the water supply valve.
Error code: E13
This error code means the water level is dropping when it shouldn’t, so there’s probably a leak. To solve the problem, examine if the drain hose is correctly positioned (it should not be below the water level in the drum) and check if the hoses do not leak. If these actions do not work, you may need to replace the pressure sensor.
Error code: E20
This Electrolux washing machine error code means there is a drain fault. The best way to solve the root problem is to check that your drain hoses and filter are not blocked. If these components are ok, then replace the drain pump.
Error code: E21
This error code is another drain error code. The best way to solve the problem is to check that your drain hoses and filter are not blocked or damaged. If these components are ok, replace the drain pump.
Error code: E22
This error code means your washing machine is not draining after the rinse cycle. The best way to solve the problem is to check that your drain hoses and filter are not blocked. If these components are ok, then replace the drain pump.
Error code: E23
This error code means that your Electrolux washing machine has detected a problem with the drain pump triac. Check the location of the drain pump along with the wiring. You may need to replace the main board if the drain pump and wiring are ok.
Error code: E24
This error code indicates a malfunction in the drain pump triac sensor circuit. The best way to solve this problem is to replace the main board.
Error code: E25
This Electrolux washing machine error code indicates that a wrong input signal is sent to the microprocessor. The best way to solve this problem is to replace the circuit board.
Error code: E31
This code means that the pressure switch is faulty. You can fix the problem by replacing it. If that doesn’t work, the board may need a replacement.
Error code: E32
This error code indicates there is a calibration problem with the pressure switch. To correct the root cause of the code, check the cables for damage, check the hoses for blockages, check the inlet valve for leaks, and drain pump to make sure they are working.
Error code: E35
This Electrolux washing machine error code indicates that the pressure sensor in your washing machine has detected that the water level is too high. To fix the problem, check if the water supply valve is working and the pressure chamber is blocked. If these actions do not work, replace the pressure sensor and/or main board.
Error codes: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44 and E45
These error codes indicate a problem with the door lock. To solve the cause of the problem, see if the door is closed. If everything is ok with the door, and one of these codes is displayed, the wiring and lock will need a check. If there is damage, then replace the door lock. Replace the main board if installing a new door lock does not clear the code.
Error code: E50
This error code indicates a problem with your Electrolux washing machine engine. To fix the problem, check the cables to the motor to find if they are connected correctly. If the they are plugging in correctly, the motor will need to be checked by a technician. In case of damage, replace them.
Error code: E60
This error code indicates a heating failure. To fix the problem, see if the temperature sensor and the heating element are not defective. To do this, check if all cables are well connected to the components and test them with a multimeter. If they are damaged, then replace the parts. If both parts pass the test, you need a new board.
Error code: E61
This fault code relates to damage in the heating element. It means that the water does not heat up during the wash cycle. Check the heating element and temperature sensor with a multimeter. If there is damage, then replace the parts. If both components pass the test, the board needs a replacement.
Error code: E62
This error code indicates that the water is overheating during the wash cycle. The first thing to check is that the water supply hose connects to the cold tap but not the hot one. If the connection is correct, check the temperature sensor. If damaged, replace it.
Error code: EC1
This code means that the main circuit board receives a signal from the flow meter, showing that the water is not flowing into the washing machine. To correct the underlying problem, you will need to replace the water supply valves. If this does not work, then install a new main board.
Error code: EF1
This error code indicates that the drain pump filter or one of the hoses is blocked. To solve the problem, check that the drain pump and hoses are not blocked or clogged.
Error code: EF2
This Electrolux washing machine code means too many suds in the drum during the spin cycle. It shows this error because there is a risk of overflowing from the inside and onto the floor. To solve the problem, check if the drain pump is not blocked. Also, do not use too much detergent when putting the clothes in the machine.
Error code: EF4
This error code indicates that the flow meter is not detecting any water flowing into your washing machine, even though the water supply valves are open. Check if the water tap is open and the hoses do not have kinks or blockages. If the faucet is open, replace the water supply valves. Check there are no blockages in the hoses.
Error code: EF5
This error code means that the washing machine is unbalanced. To solve the problem, open the washing machine door and rearrange the laundry inside to make it more balanced. There may also be laundry tangled inside, so remove and straighten it.

F1. This code tells us that the circuit is open or a short has occurred in the temperature sensor circuit. That means the wiring supplying the thermal sensor and connecting it to the electronic module, broken heater, or the contacts have burned.
F2. The control module does not receive a signal to close the hatch. This means that the control signal from the control unit of the hatch does not come to the control module of the Gorenje washing machine, which means that the module gives an error and stops the washing program. In most cases, the cause is a faulty UBL or an open circuit between the UBL and the control module.
F3. In two attempts, the required minimum water did not fill. That means the washing machine tried to drain a minimum of water in the tank within 4 minutes, and failed. She then tried again, spending another 4 minutes, then the control unit stopped trying and gave an F3 code. Most often, the reasons for this are:
low pressure in the water supply (its absence);
problems with the filling valve (clogging, damage);
In much rarer cases it is a pressure switch.
F4. This error indicates a break between the Hall sensor and the control module of the Gorenje washing machine. In this case, either the tachometer burned out, or its contacts burned out, or there was a break in the wiring. Also, a problem with the electronic module that cannot recognize the signal from the Hall sensor is not excluded. The error occurs 3 minutes after the tachometer signal disappears. The machine then stops running the wash program, draws cold water into the tank, and drains it. Then shows the F4 code. In machine models with an inverter motor, approximately the same thing happens with the inverter.
F5. The failure of the semiconductor element (triac) that controls the motor. In this case, due to the corresponding semiconductor element, the control panel cannot regulate the operation of the motor. The reasons for this can be a short circuit or excessive engine heating. The same error occurs on inverter motor models.
F6. This error occurs if the water in the tank heats up too slowly or does not heat up at all. After activating the heating element, the control module, using a temperature sensor, monitors the increase in water temperature and checks the parameters set by the program. If the indicators diverge by more than 150V, the washing machine generates an F6 error after executing the washing program. A characteristic feature of this error is that the washing machine in any case finishes washing, rinsing, and spinning. Then the code appears. Possible reasons:
defective temperature sensor;
burnt heating element;
defective electronic module.
F7. This code will appear if the washing machine cannot pump the wastewater and its level does not drop below the “minimum”. The water level in the tank may not decrease at all or may decrease very slowly. Unlike other car brands, Gorenje repeats the draining procedure. If this does not work, the F7 error pops up. The reasons for the F7 error are the following:
malfunction or severe blocking of the pump;
clogged garbage filter;
exhaust pump power failure;
the pressure switch is out of order;
the control module has broken.
F8. This error means a slower drum rotation speed than expected in the rotation program. In other words, if the module detects that the drum is spinning at less than 100 rpm during spin, F8 will pop. Under normal conditions, the machine does not give such an error. Only a service test can detect it. Why does this error occur? The motor burned out, the electronic module failed, the inverter (for some machine models) failed, and the drive belt came loose.
F9. This error occurs in Gorenje washing machines equipped with the Aqua Stop system. It means that water has entered the washing tray. The fact is that such machines have a special pan equipped with a leak detection sensor. If the tank of the car burns or the pipe starts to leak, water will inevitably fall into the pan, the leak sensor will work, and the washing machine will stop.
F1. We will not describe this error code because it was a part of the previous paragraph. Decrypting it is the same.
F2. Within 8 minutes, the washing machine failed to drain the minimum water amount in the tank. During the specified time, the Gorenje washing machine makes two attempts to draw water. If it fails, the F2 code appears. The reasons for this problem can be many:
clogged filter mesh installed in front of the bulk valve;
there is no water in the water supply;
water pressure is too low;
the filling valve does not work;
the pressure switch is out of order.
F31. There is no communication between the tachometer and the control module. If the connection between the Hall sensor and the electronic module is interrupted, the system stops the engine urgently. Within 4 minutes, the module tries to restart the engine twice. If the connection is faulty, then the F31 code appears. This error is due to a faulty Hall sensor, suitable electrical communications, or the control module.
F32. Defective electronic engine controller. On some Gorenje washing machines, a special electronic unit regulates the motor, and if it burns, the indicated error will appear.
F4. The temperature sensor detects a discrepancy between the actual water temperature in the tank and the value entered in the program. If the heater does not heat the water in the tank to the required temperature for the specified time, then the F4 code is displayed at the end of the washing program. Permissible error + -150V. Causes: heating element or control module.
F41. The temperature sensor has detected a strong overheating of the water in the tank. In this case, the heater heats the water in the tank to the maximum temperature, even if this is not due to the washing program. To avoid overheating and damage to the heater, the system urgently disables it, and an error F41 is displayed. The reason, most likely, is a semiconductor element (relay) of the control module.
F43. TEN heats up too quickly. In this case, the system urgently stops the operation of the washing program and the operation of the heater. It prevents damage to that part and a possible fire. This can happen if the electronic module activates the heating element when there is too little or no water in the tank. Reasons: the pressure switch is damaged, the tank is leaking, and the control module is broken.
F5. A similar error appears if the Gorenje washing machine fails to completely drain the water from the tank in 2 attempts within 4 minutes. The user can then press the button to start the program, and the machine will try to drain the water again. If this attempt is unsuccessful, the washing machine will suspend completely. What can happen?
An exhausted, clogged pump.
An interrupted pump power.
The waste filter, drain pipe, or hose is badly clogged.
The pipe of the pressure switch is clogged or burnt. It can damage the wiring to the water level sensor or the corresponding contacts.
In rare cases, the electronic controller is to blame.
F61. When turning, the drum turns too slowly. To clarify the error decoding, before the module displays the F61 code, it must determine the discrepancy between the speed of rotation of the drum by at least 100 revolutions per minute, and for this, it is necessary to run the service test. During the normal operation of the washing machine, the error will not appear. Reasons: the engine and the control module are damaged, and the drive belt is weak.
F63. The engine control electronics cannot communicate with the control module. The code appears immediately after a malfunction. Causes: malfunction of the electronic unit, its electrical communications, or control module.
